Jukai Sesshin From July 17 to 20

17–20 July 2025

This sesshin is open to all, beginners and advanced alike, and is an opportunity to dive into the heart of Sôtô zen, experiencing a practice passed down through the centuries permeating all aspects of daily life.

We will do 4 sessions of zazen - sitting meditation - per day, interspersed with samu (group work), silent meals and the Jukai ceremonies (taking refuge and receiving the precepts).

Master Wang-Genh gives teachings on different themes. There will be opportunities to ask him questions in individual talks - dokusan - or in assembly - mondo. It is also possible to ask him questions by email which he will answer during the mondo.

PROGRAMME

The sesshin will run from Thursday 17 July to Sunday 20 July.

Arrival is scheduled for on Wednesday 16 July between 5pm and 6pm. There will be an introductory lecture at 7pm.
Departure is scheduled for Sunday 20 July after lunch at around 2pm.
