Spring camp - May 24th to May 1st

-

Come and practice with us in the midst of nature's bounty during this spring week!

The spring retreat - 9 days - is an opportunity to discover or deepen the practice of Zen meditation and to experience monastic life in a Buddhist temple.

The days at the temple are punctuated by meditation sessions, ceremonies, silent meals and community activities (samou).

Teachings and discussions between participants will clarify the posture and state of mind during zazen, the meaning of the ceremonies and the practice in general.

Beginners are welcome and are mentored by experienced monks and nuns.

SCHEDULE

The retreat is divided into two parts:

  • Arrival on Friday 23 May at 5pm. An introductory lecture takes place at 7pm.
  • From 24 May to 27 May: ‘THE PREPARATION’ - the schedule is divided between meditation, teaching and samu(voluntary work in the community).
  • Wednesday 28 May: rest day
  • Thursday 29 May to Sunday 1 June (2.30pm): ‘THE SESSHIN‘ - a more intensive period focusing on zazen, Zen meditation.
