New Year's online Sesshin
In these difficult times for all, let us continue to practice together. We suggest that you follow all the sesshin from your home: zazen, ceremonies, ritual meals, teachings, questions and answers.
CONTINUE YOUR PRACTICE WITH US
Dear friends of Ryumonji,
The end-of-year sesshin will unfortunately not be able to take place as planned.
However, I propose you to take part in it online with the thirty residents of the temple and the following programme:
|29 - 30 DECEMBER 2020||31 DECEMBER 2020|
Zazen/kinhin until 11:50 pm then midnight ceremony and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
During the whole evening of zazen, the Bonsho will ring your bell for the new year (more information will be given later).
|JANUARY 1ST, 2021|
10:30 - 11:15: Zazen
Zen-Online or Zoom or Youtube
11:20 - 12:00: New Year's Eve and FUSE ceremony
I hope that in this way we will be able to practise, TOGETHER, the last hours of this year 2020, so special but also so instructive in many ways.
And above all to begin 2021 united in the silence and peaceful joy of zazen.
I wish you, your families and loved ones a year full of spiritual health and benevolent motivation to make this planet turn in the right direction!

Each month Master Reigen Wang-Genh directs retreats ranging from three to nine days in length. These retreats are open to everyone; for both beginners and ordained people alike, sesshins are an opportunity to delve into the heart of Soto Zen. This experience allows participants to experience a practice that has been transmitted through the centuries which affects all aspects of daily life.
Sesshins are comprised of four sessions of zazen - seated meditation - per day, divided by samu - communal work -, silent meals, and cermonies.
In order to put you fully in the spirit of the sesshin, you are asked to register formally.
You will then receive all the practical information and the procedure to follow.
To support your zazen practice - zen meditation - Master Wang-Genh has recorded a series of thematic videos.
They are available in French, with English subtitles. You need to enable the subtitles. The views were taken at the Zen monastery Ryumonji ( Alsace) where Master Wang-Genh most often resides.
