Sewing kesa

Kesa sewing with Walter Eko, our current shusso.

Walter Eko Krepulat is currently on an ango, a three-month retreat at the Ryumonji, during which he will receive teachings on ceremonies, rituals and the Dharma.

During this period of retreat, he is also the shusso of the temple, or "first monk". The shusso is responsible for the atmosphere of recollection that must reign in the dojo, especially during zazen.

Walter Eko has been practising zazen since 1987. He is responsible for the Stuttgart dojo and is a specialist in traditional kesa and rakusu sewing.
