MONASTIC GARDEN CARE - Samou Week - November 18 to 24

-

The samou week “Monastic garden care” is organized by Zen nun Anette Myorei Thiel. While sharing in the daily life of the monks and nuns, participants are invited to take care of the monastery gardens... while discovering some ecological gardening techniques.

The week's program includes garden work, vegetable gardening, working the soil, landscaping around the new ponds and landscaping.

The week is open to all, beginners and advanced alike. It's an opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in the heart of Sôtô Zen practice, by experiencing Zen meditation, zazen, handed down through the centuries and permeating every aspect of daily life.

During this period, there will be two zazen sessions a day, in the morning and evening.

The formal teachings will be given by Master Olivier Reigen Wang-Genh, a practitioner of Buddhism for over 50 years. Discussions with participants are planned, and individual interviews are available on request.
