-

"EXPERIENCE YOUR FIRST RETREAT IN A ZEN TEMPLE"

This first Zen retreat (first sesshin) is open to everyone. It is particularly aimed at beginners in the practice of Zen.

It is aimed at people wishing to discover Zen meditation, zazen and all aspects of daily life in a Buddhist temple. Teachings and discussions between participants will clarify the posture and state of mind during zazen, the meaning of the ceremonies and the practice in general.

The programme includes learning zazen (sitting meditation) and kinhin (walking meditation), as well as a number of teachings, the practice of samu (voluntary work for the community) and ritualised meals taken in silence.

Master Wang-Genh, the abbot of the monastery, will be giving talks at on the specifics of Zen meditation and Zen Buddhism. It will be possible to ask him questions during individual talks - dokusan - or in assembly - mondo.
